CyberAgent Ventures, Inc. (CAV) has invested in over 30 Internet-related start-ups in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia and Korea. In Korea, CAV invested in Kakao Corp in 2011, which runs a messaging application named Kakao Talk with over 40 million registered users. CAV believes that the extremely high Internet and smartphone penetration as well as the abundant numbers of entrepreneurs make Korea a very promising market for CAV.
The establishment of the new office in Seoul will enchance CAV’s investment and incubation activities in the local market. After opening the Seoul Office, CAV now has offices in 8 cities including Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi throughout the Asian market. CAV will fully utilize our experiences and resources accumulated through its global operation to further expand its venture capital business in Korea.
