As newspapers, magazines and other paper-based media go digital, some often wonder how long the traditional paper business card will stay around for. Business cards seem to have stuck around but one startup wants to take them out of your wallet and put them into your phone.
Drama & Company launched its app and web service Profeel.me earlier this week after six months of development and beta testing. Profeel.me is a mobile business card service which lets users make and share their own cards via smartphone while easily storing cards from others. Cards made via the app include images, a profile and social media links, and they can be shared via text or other platforms such as Kakao Talk. Even if the person you’re sending the message to doesn’t have the app, they can view the business card via the web.
Profile.me has already turned heads and gained first place at the Smart Cloud Show 2013 held at COEX earlier this month where it competed against products and services from 19 other startups.
“Mobile business cards are not something far off but an inevitable change approaching our business environment. Profile.me will lead in changing the paradigm of business cards,” said the CEOs of Drama & Company Beomseob Kim and Jae-ho Choi.
Profile.me is a free service that can be downloaded for Android from Google Play or accessed via its webpage.
