공작기계 및 로봇 자동화 솔루션 전문기업 스맥이 충청남도 천안시에 중부지사를 새롭게 개소해 반도체 시장 공략 강화에 박차를 가한다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 중부지사 설립은 반도체 관련 제조업 경쟁력 강화를 목표로 한 주요 전략 거점 마련의 일환이다. 스맥은 중부지사를 통해 첨단 공작기계와 자동화 솔루션에 대한 신속하고 전문적인 기술 지원을 제공할 계획이다. 특히 스마트 제조 시스템 구축 컨설팅을 강화해 지역 제조업체들의 생산 효율성 증대와 국내 제조업의 글로벌 경쟁력 제고에 기여할 것이다. 이는 제조업체의 경쟁력 강화뿐만 아니라 국내 수출 증대와 국가 경제 발전에도 기여하겠다는 스맥의 경영 방침과도 맞닿아 있다.

스맥은 지난해 연결기준 3분기 누적 매출액 1,527억 원, 영업이익 209억 원을 기록하며 지속적인 성장세를 입증했다. 매 분기마다 실적 경신이 예상되는 가운데, 올해 역시 상승 곡선을 이어갈 것으로 기대된다. 특히, 스마트 제조 분야의 혁신적인 신제품 개발과 더불어 주요 전시회 참가를 통해 기술력을 알리고 글로벌 시장에서의 입지를 한층 더 공고히 할 계획이다.
