경기창조경제혁신센터(이하 ‘경기혁신센터’)의 투자기업인 ㈜소이넷은 조달청의 벤처창업기업제품으로 최종 선정되어 등록됐다고 24일 밝혔다. 이번 선정은 벤처 및 창업기업의 공공조달시장 진입 촉진과 공공구매 판로 확대를 위한 지원의 일환으로 이뤄졌다.
소이넷은 이번 등록을 통해 공공부문에서의 다국어 통역 수요를 충족시키고, 매출 확대를 통해 내수시장을 안정적으로 다진 뒤 해외시장으로의 확장을 목표로 하고 있다. 최근 구글로부터 30만 달러 크레딧을 유치한 소이넷은 클라우드 기반의 다국어 동시통역 송출 서비스(DABAR Realtime Broadcasting multi-language interpretation services)를 선보였다. 이 서비스는 37개 언어를 인식하며, 124개 국어로 실시간 자막 및 오디오 형태로 송출되어 자막과 통역시장의 혁신을 예고하고 있다.
박정우 공동대표는 “향후 3년 내에 인간 중심의 통역이 인공지능으로 대체될 수 있을 것으로 예상되지만, 여전히 개인의 외국어 능력은 인간 사회에서 중요한 역할을 할 것”이라고 말했다.
