스프링캠프는 AI를 활용한 특허 검색 및 분석 서비스 제공 기업 완드에 투자했다. 완드는 2024년 12월 중소벤처기업부의 기술창업 지원 프로그램 ‘팁스(TIPS)’에 선정됐다.
완드는 자체 개발한 Patsol 서비스를 통해 특허 검색, 명세서 작성, 특허 분석 등 다양한 특허 관련 업무를 지원하는 올인원 솔루션을 제공한다. 이 서비스는 AI 기반 특허 검색 기술, 명세서 작성 지원 기능, 포트폴리오 및 경쟁력 분석 기능 등을 포함하며, 전문가와 기업들이 특허 업무를 더 효율적으로 처리할 수 있도록 돕는다.
한상호 대표는 서울대학교에서 학사, 연세대학교에서 석사를 취득한 후, 특허청에서 특허심사관과 특허 검색엔진 개발 및 관리 책임자로 근무한 경험을 바탕으로 완드를 창업했다. 그는 “특허청에서의 경험을 통해 특허 시장의 고질적인 문제를 체감했고, 이를 해결하기 위해 AI 기술을 도입한 혁신적인 솔루션을 개발했다”고 말했다.
완드는 설립 3개월 만에 중요한 성과를 이뤄냈다. 설립 한 달 만에 스프링캠프에서 시드 투자를 유치한 데 이어, 12월에는 팁스 프로그램에 선정되며 기술력과 시장 가능성을 공식적으로 인정받았다. 팁스는 기술력 있는 스타트업에 연구개발비와 사업화 자금을 지원하는 프로그램으로, 완드는 이를 통해 최대 7억 원의 지원을 받아 AI 기반 특허 솔루션 연구개발을 강화할 계획이다.
스프링캠프의 고경표 이사는 “완드는 AI와 특허 검색의 융합이라는 차별화된 기술력과 시장 가능성을 갖춘 스타트업으로, 글로벌 시장에서도 큰 잠재력을 가지고 있다”고 평가했다.

CEO Han Sang-ho, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and his master’s degree from Yonsei University, founded Wand based on his experience working as a patent examiner and a patent search engine development and management manager at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. He said, “Through my experience at the Korean Intellectual Property Office, I experienced the chronic problems of the patent market and developed an innovative solution that introduced AI technology to solve them.”
Wand has achieved significant results in just three months since its establishment. After attracting seed investment from Spring Camp within a month of its establishment, it was officially recognized for its technological prowess and market potential by being selected for the TIPS program in December. TIPS is a program that provides R&D expenses and commercialization funds to startups with technological prowess, and Wand plans to receive up to 700 million won in support through this to strengthen its R&D of AI-based patented solutions.
Springcamp’s director, Gyeongpyo Koh, evaluated Wand as “a startup with differentiated technology and market potential in the fusion of AI and patent search, and it has great potential in the global market.”

TIPS est un programme qui fournit des dépenses de recherche et développement et des fonds de commercialisation aux startups dotées de capacités technologiques, et Wand prévoit de recevoir jusqu'à 700 millions de wons de soutien grâce à ce programme pour renforcer la recherche et le développement de solutions brevetées basées sur l'IA.
