비에이치아이가 사우디아라비아에서 올해 첫 대규모 수주에 성공했다. 비에이치아이는 하얼빈일렉트릭(HEI, Harbin Electric International)과 약 2930억원 규모의 액화천연가스(LNG) 복합화력발전 배열회수보일러(HRSG) 공급 계약을 체결했다고 12일 밝혔다.
비에이치아이는 사우디 루마2(Luma 2)와 나이리야2(Nairiyah 2)에 각 3기씩, 총 6기의 HRSG를 공급할 예정이다. 루마와 나이리야 지역에서 진행 중인 복합화력발전소 프로젝트는 총 4개로 각각 루마1·2, 나이리야1·2로 구분된다. 이번에 비에이치아이가 수주한 루마2와 나이리야2는 일본 최대 전력회사 제라(JERA)가 참여한 컨소시엄이 프로젝트 사업권을 보유하고 있다.
일본, 아부다비, 사우디아라비아 3국 중심의 컨소시엄이 관련 프로젝트를 수주한 만큼 관련 국가 기업들의 협력이 예상됐으나, 한국 기업인 비에이치아이가 HRSG 공급사로 선정된 것이다.
이는 비에이치아이가 우수한 기술력을 바탕으로 중동 지역에서 다수의 성공적인 레퍼런스를 확보하며 입지를 다져온 결과라는 게 회사 측의 설명이다. 비에이치아이는 지난 한 해에만 사우디에서 타이바, 카심, 두루마 등 3개의 굵직한 대규모 HRSG 공급 프로젝트를 연달아 수주했다.
또 제라가 일본 내에서 추진하는 대규모 복합화력발전소 구축 프로젝트에 비에이치아이가 HRSG 공급사로 선정된 점도 이번 수주에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 풀이된다. 지난해 비에이치아이는 도시바와 일본 지타(知多) 지역에 구축되는 복합화력발전소향 HRSG 2기 공급 계약을 체결한 바 있다.
비에이치아이 관계자는 “글로벌 LNG 발전 인프라 시장의 격전지로 평가받는 중동에서 우수한 기술력과 품질을 앞세운 당사의 제품이 인정받고 있다”며 “이번 수주는 중동 LNG 발전 시장에서의 입지를 더욱 공고히 하는 계기가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
이어 “최근 중동 지역 발전소 프로젝트가 점점 대형화되는 추세를 보이고 있다”며 “이 또한 대형 HRSG 제작에 강점을 지닌 당사에 매우 유리한 환경으로, 앞으로도 수주 모멘텀을 지속적으로 이어나가 글로벌 HRSG 시장에서 선두 위치를 확고히 하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

BHI signs 293 billion won supply contract in Saudi Arabia
BHI has won its first large-scale order this year in Saudi Arabia. BHI announced on the 12th that it signed a contract with Harbin Electric International (HEI) to supply a liquefied natural gas (LNG) combined cycle power plant heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) worth approximately KRW 293 billion.
BHI will supply a total of six HRSGs, three each for Saudi Luma 2 and Nairiyah 2. There are a total of four combined cycle power plant projects underway in the Luma and Nairiyah regions, each named Luma 1 and 2 and Nairiyah 1 and 2. The Luma 2 and Nairiyah 2 projects, which BHI recently won, are owned by a consortium that includes Japan’s largest power company, JERA.
As a consortium centered around Japan, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia won the bid for the project, cooperation among companies from related countries was expected, but BHI, a Korean company, was selected as the HRSG supplier.
The company explains that this is the result of BHI securing a number of successful references in the Middle East based on its excellent technological prowess and establishing its position. Last year alone, BHI won three large-scale HRSG supply projects in Saudi Arabia, including Taiba, Qasim, and Duruma.
It is also interpreted that BHI was selected as the HRSG supplier for the large-scale combined cycle power plant construction project that Jera is promoting in Japan, which had a positive impact on this order. Last year, BHI signed a contract with Toshiba to supply two HRSGs for the combined cycle power plant being built in the Chita region of Japan.
A BHI official said, “Our products, which boast excellent technology and quality, are being recognized in the Middle East, which is considered a fiercely contested market for global LNG power generation infrastructure,” adding, “This order will serve as an opportunity to further solidify our position in the Middle Eastern LNG power generation market.”
He continued, “Recently, power plant projects in the Middle East have been showing an increasing trend toward larger scale,” and added, “This is also a very favorable environment for our company, which has strengths in the production of large HRSGs. We will continue to build on our order momentum and solidify our leading position in the global HRSG market.”

また、ジェラが日本内で推進する大規模複合火力発電所構築プロジェクトにビエイチアイがHRSGサプライヤーに選ばれた点も今回の受注に肯定的な影響を及ぼしたものと解釈される。昨年、ビエチアイは東芝と知多地域に構築される複合火力発電所向HRSG第2期供給契約を締結した。
ビエイチアイ関係者は「グローバルLNG発電インフラ市場の激戦地として評価される中東で優れた技術力と品質を前面に出した当社の製品が認められている」とし「今回の受注は中東LNG発電市場での立地をさらに強固にするきっかけになるだろう」と話した。
続いて「最近の中東地域発電所プロジェクトがますます大型化する傾向を見せている」とし「これも大型HRSG制作に強みを持つ当社に非常に有利な環境で、今後も受注モメンタムを継続的に継続してグローバルHRSG市場で先頭位置を確固たる」と付け加えた。

BHI a annoncé le 12 avoir signé un contrat avec Harbin Electric International (HEI) pour la fourniture d'un générateur de vapeur à récupération de chaleur (HRSG) pour une centrale électrique à cycle combiné au gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) d'une valeur d'environ 293 milliards de KRW.
BHI fournira un total de six HRSG, trois pour les réacteurs Luma 2 et Nairiyah 2 d'Arabie saoudite. Il existe au total quatre projets de centrales électriques à cycle combiné en cours dans les régions de Ruma et de Nairiya, et ils sont nommés respectivement Ruma 1 et 2 et Nairiya 1 et 2. Cette fois, les projets Luma 2 et Nairiya 2, remportés par BHI, sont gérés par un consortium qui comprend la plus grande compagnie d'électricité du Japon, JERA.
