스마트팜 및 수직농장 기술 전문기업 엔씽(N.Thing, 대표 김혜연)이 SDGs Tech 전문 벤처투자사 딥스톤인베스트먼트(대표 김규완, 임병을)로부터 전략적 투자를 유치했다고 14일 밝혔다. 양사는 지난 3월 5일 투자 계약을 체결(금액 비공개)하고, SDGs Tech 분야 스타트업 육성을 위한 공동 협력 사업을 추진하기로 했다.
딥스톤인베스트먼트는 엔씽이 이미 우량 고객을 확보하여 안정적인 매출 성과를 내고 있으며, 최근 추진 중인 신사업의 높은 성장가능성을 높게 평가해 이번 투자를 단행했다. 특히 SDGs Tech 중 식량안보 부문의 선도기업으로서 엔씽의 기술력과 사업성을 인정한 것으로 알려졌다.
2014년 설립된 엔씽은 IT와 데이터를 접목한 첨단 IoT 기반의 모듈형 수직농장 솔루션을 개발·운영하는 기업이다. 자체 수직농장에서 재배한 샐러드 채소 및 허브를 공급하는 신선사업본부와 모듈형 수직농장 솔루션을 제공하는 기술사업본부를 운영하고 있다. 세계 최초로 유기적 연결이 가능한 모듈형 스마트팜 ‘큐브(CUBE)’를 개발한 엔씽은 2020년 CES에서 농업 분야 사상 최초로 최고혁신상을 수상하는 등 기술력을 국제적으로 인정받은 바 있다.

이번 투자를 통해 엔씽은 국내외 사업 확장에 더욱 집중할 예정이다. 최근 폭염·장마·한파 등 이상기후로 농산물 수급 불안정과 가격 급등이 심화되는 상황에서, 엔씽의 스마트팜 기술은 미래 농업의 새로운 대안으로 주목받고 있다. 특히 이마트와의 협업을 통해 경기 이천에 구축한 ‘큐브’라는 이름의 모듈형 스마트팜은 연간 110톤 규모의 유럽형 상추 등을 재배하며 이마트 후레쉬센터에 안정적으로 공급하고 있다. 이곳의 단위면적당 생산량은 일반 노지나 하우스에 비해 40배에 달한다.
엔씽의 스마트팜은 실내 환경을 제어해 계절이나 장소에 관계없이 연중 균일한 품질의 채소를 생산할 수 있으며, 살충제 등 환경 유해 물질을 사용하지 않고 물 사용량도 기존 노지 대비 94% 절감하는 등 ESG 경영과 지속가능성 측면에서도 높은 가치를 인정받고 있다. 또한 작물 성장을 위한 최적의 환경 조성과 빅데이터 기반 재배로 사시사철 양질의 채소를 안정적으로 공급할 수 있어, 기후변화로 인한 농산물 수급 불안정 문제 해결에 크게 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
전 세계적으로 식량안보와 기후변화 대응이 중요해짐에 따라 수직농장 시장은 연평균 25% 이상의 성장세를 보이고 있으며, 엔씽은 고효율·친환경 식량 생산 기술로 이 시장의 선두주자로 자리매김하고 있다. 특히 중동과 동남아시아 등 식량 자급률이 낮은 지역에서 엔씽의 수직농장 솔루션에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있어 글로벌 사업 확장이 가속화될 전망이다. 딥스톤인베스트먼트와 함께 액셀러레이팅 프로그램을 공동으로 운영하며 식량안보 분야의 스타트업 생태계 활성화에도 기여할 계획이다.

한편 딥스톤인베스트먼트는 벤처 스타트업을 발굴·투자·보육하는 액셀러레이터(등록 예정)로, 2025년 하반기부터 ‘딥베이션(Deep-Vation)’과 ‘디커브(D-Curve)’ 액셀러레이팅 프로그램을 운영할 예정이다. 이번 엔씽과의 협력을 통해 양사는 초기기업부터 IPO 준비단계 기업까지 SDGs Tech 분야의 종합적인 밸류업을 지원할 계획이다.

With this investment, Ensing will focus more on expanding its domestic and international business. In a situation where agricultural product supply and demand instability and price surges are becoming more severe due to abnormal climate such as heat waves, monsoon rains, and cold waves, Ensing's smart farm technology is receiving attention as a new alternative for future agriculture. In particular, the modular smart farm called 'Cube' built in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province through collaboration with E-Mart is growing 110 tons of European lettuce annually and stably supplying it to E-Mart Fresh Center. The production volume per unit area here is 40 times that of general fields or greenhouses.
Enthing's smart farm can control the indoor environment to produce vegetables of consistent quality all year round regardless of season or location, and is recognized for its high value in terms of ESG management and sustainability, as it does not use environmentally harmful substances such as pesticides and reduces water usage by 94% compared to existing open fields.
