글로벌 AI 데이터 클라우드 기업 스노우플레이크(Snowflake)가 데이터를 활용해 애플리케이션을 직접 구축하는 ‘스노우플레이크 X 스트림릿 해커톤 코리아(Snowflake x Streamlit Hackathon Korea)’를 개최한다.
참가자들은 스노우플레이크의 데이터 클라우드 플랫폼과 파이썬 기반 대시보드 및 대화형 웹 애플리케이션 개발 도구인 스트림릿을 활용해 데이터 애플리케이션을 자유롭게 설계할 수 있다.
스노우플레이크 마켓플레이스를 통해 제공되는 실제 산업 데이터를 기반으로, 스노우플레이크 환경에서 작동하고 비즈니스 가치 창출이 가능한 솔루션을 창의적으로 구현하는 것이 대회의 핵심 과제다. 추가적으로 필요한 라이브러리나 오픈소스 도구도 자유롭게 사용할 수 있다.
데이터 애플리케이션 개발에 관심 있는 누구나 무료로 참가할 수 있으며, 기술 지식이 없는 참가자들을 위해 사전 교육 프로그램도 운영한다. 스노우플레이크 코리아 유저그룹에서는 16일 참가자들이 스노우플레이크와 스트림릿의 시너지를 이해하고 실제 과제에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있도록 핸즈온 웨비나를 진행한다. 해커톤 공식 웹사이트에서 참여할 수 있으며, 제공되는 가이드를 통해 단계별 학습도 할 수 있다.
제출된 과제는 ▲기능 및 완성도 ▲기술 활용도 ▲사용자 경험 ▲문제 해결력 등 다양한 측면에서 종합적으로 평가될 예정이다. 특히 스노우플레이크 플랫폼과 스트림릿의 기능을 얼마나 효과적으로 활용했는지가 핵심이 될 전망이다. 최종적으로 선정된 3개의 솔루션은 5월 14일 열리는 결선 무대에서 발표된다. 최종 심사에는 스트림릿 공동 창업자 겸 최고운영자(COO)이자 스노우플레이크 스트림릿 및 제품 경험 총괄인 아만다 켈리(Amanda Kelly)가 방한해 평가할 예정이다.
켈리 총괄은 “2023년부터 스노우플레이크 본사에서 진행해온 창의적이면서도 실용적인 데이터 기반 앱을 경험할 수 있는 해커톤 행사가 한국에서 처음으로 열리게 되었다”며 “이 행사가 스노우플레이크와 스트림릿의 사용자 친화적 기능을 활용해 누구나 쉽게 아이디어를 실제 애플리케이션으로 구현해보는 좋은 기회가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.

Snowflake, 'Snowflake X Streamlit Hackathon Korea' held
Snowflake, a global AI data cloud company, is hosting the 'Snowflake x Streamlit Hackathon Korea' to build applications directly using data.
Participants will be able to freely design data applications using Snowflake’s data cloud platform and Streamlet, a Python-based dashboard and interactive web application development tool.
The core challenge of the competition is to creatively implement solutions that can operate in the Snowflake environment and create business value based on real-world industry data provided through the Snowflake Marketplace. Additionally, any necessary libraries or open source tools can be freely used.
Anyone interested in developing data applications can participate for free, and there is also a pre-education program for participants without technical knowledge. The Snowflake Korea User Group will hold a hands-on webinar on the 16th to help participants understand the synergy between Snowflake and Streamlet and effectively apply it to real-world tasks. “The hackathon event, which has been held at Snowflake headquarters since 2023, where people can experience creative yet practical data-driven apps, is being held for the first time in Korea,” said General Manager Kelly. “I hope this event will be a great opportunity for anyone to easily implement their ideas into actual applications by utilizing the user-friendly features of Snowflake and Streamlit.”
