Angel investment firm BonAngels has announced its investment of 300 million won in mobile startup The Beatpacking Company.
The Beatpacking Company was started in April this year by the founders of Me2Day, CEO Suman Park and director Heungseok Do. Me2Day was Korea’s answer to Twitter and was acquired by internet giant NHN in 2008, where the pair took roles as directors in various departments at the company.
“We decided to found another company to create innovative services that haven’t come out yet as the mobile market is still a blue ocean. Using the experience and capacity from the team which launched Me2Day and Naver’s “Band”, we’ll do all in our power to launch a new service within the year.” said CEO Park
BonAngels continues to expand its involvement in the mobile sector following investments in Woowa Brothers, GreySox, Bookjam and 9Flava.
BonAngel’s director Seok-heun Kang said, “Successful examples from serial entrepreneurs mean a lot for the startup ecosystem. We plan to actively aid in the creation of a new service that will contribute to the dynamism of the mobile startup ecosystem.”
