The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) have selected eight companies to attend TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2013 this September. The trip to TechCrunch Disrupt, one of the most – if not, the most popular tech and startup conference in the world, is part of an initiative by the government to increase the global market penetration of Korean content.
The selected companies which were announced earlier today are Iportfolio with its real-time travel service platform ‘my TGIF’, social translation service Flitto, Wazzle Entertainment with ‘Original K-pop Dance’, Levelpump and its graphical English word database ‘Twinword’, Art & Technology Holdings, Easyworks Universe with its mobile portfolio service ‘Planet Jack’ and LoginD with its information social network service ’1024′.
The eight businesses will have the chance to market themselves from September 9 – 11 at the Korea booth (한국공동관) operated by KOCCA in partnership with TechCrunch. Companies chosen to attend Disrupt are ones that have already seen success in Korea and have plans to expand globally. The Korean ventures will have the opportunity to meet with famous angel investors and venture capitalists at the event. This is the second time that KOCCA has operated the Korea booth at TechCrunch Disrupt.
