Online travel and tour platform MyRealTrip has secured an investment of 400 million won from early stage VC firm BonAngels and other private angel investors.
BonAngels director Seokheun Kang said, “We decided to make the investment after the company showed its ability to detect changes in trends, as well as offer IT services and planning which satisfied customers. We look forward to BonAngels growing as leading company in the expanding area of travel innovation which looks to have a bright future.”
MyRealTrip was founded in February 2012 by CEO Dong-geon Lee and Min-seo Baek and was the tenth company incubated by Primer. MyRealTrip offers a platform where anyone can advertise tour packages and connect with those travelling. Currently, the service offers around 200 items in 62 countries and 23 countries. Expatriate Koreans and international students act as guides themselves around travel destinations.
MyRealTrip CEO Dong-geon Lee commented on the deal saying, “Through this investment we’ve come one step closer to achieving our vision of becoming Asia’s top travel company. We’ll do our best to make sure that customers have a holiday to remember.”
