Mobile letter service Letterfly has netted a seed funding round of 400 million won. The investment was led by crowdfunding platform Neospring, together with angel investors and Ensl Partners.
Letterfly is a service that delivers personalized messages from its online service by mail, an interesting concept in a world of instant messengers and emojis. But perhaps nostalgia and getting away from always reading letters on a screen is what has led to more than 30% monthly growth for the startup.
The service lets users select a style of letter, upload their own photos, and then write a message which is directly posted wherever you choose to send it. Themes include holidays, anniversaries, and cards that can be sent to significant others who are carrying out their military service.
Founded by a team of five two years ago, Letterfly has caught the eye of investors for its consistent and potential growth. Most recently, it received one of the top prizes at a government startup event hosted by several ministries.
