Global crowdfunding company Indiegogo is on the hunt for entrepreneurs and startups with innovative technology and wearable products.
Indiegogo partner Forence Group and startup accelerator VentureSquare announced earlier today that they would be taking applications for the Indiegogo Pilot Program, designed to help startups launch crowdfunding campaigns via the platform. Many Korean startups have already used Indiegogo to fund their businesses including Anyractive, X Lab and Ball Ready.
The pilot program is a global project that offers a chance for startups with potential to grow through crowdfunding campaigns. Teams will need to have a goal of going global and management who are able to give pitches in English. Final nominees will be selected through a pre-pilot program and will take part in the main program for 5-8 weeks. The Indiegogo Pilot Program will hold 1-on-1 mentoring about launching campaigns with staff from Indiegogo’s strategy team. Startups interested in the program can make an application via the VentureSquare website.
“By spending 5-8 weeks with Indiegogo’s strategy team and mentors from the UK, we plan to help startups gain an understanding of market conditions, growth potential and economic relations,” said Forence Group Director Hana Choi. “We look forward to many teams taking part.”
VentureSquare CEO Myung Seung-eun also emphasized that entrance into the startup industry is becoming faster through global crowdfunding platforms. “VentureSquare will continue to maintain a long-term partnership with Indiegogo and Forence Group so local startups can gain exposure abroad and have successful crowdfunding campaigns,” said Myung.
VentureSquare and Forence Group originally signed an MOU in July to help grow local startups through Indiegogo and also plan to seek out other partnership opportunities.
