Carrie TV Goes to Vietnam and Leads the Korean Wave of Kids

Carrie TV, a children’s broadcasting network announced on the 12th that it joined hands with VNPT, a Vietnamese state-owned telecommunications company and FPT Telecom, a private telecommunications company to begin its content services in Vietnam.

VNPT and FPT Telecom are known to be ranked first and second respectively among the Vietnamese paid content providers of cable, IPTV and OTT.

Carrie TV preferentially provided its 50 major videos subtitled and dubbed in Vietnamese to FPT, which include <ChinChinMo> and <Ellie & Tour> and began its IPTV VoD services from this month.

It has recently finished signing supply contract with VNPT, which accounts for 75% of the Vietnamese broadband market and is expected to stream Carrie content through VNPT’s platforms such as IPTV, OTT and mobile apps.

Wonsook Kwon, CEO of Carrie TV said that Vietnam among many Southeast Asian countries is home to 23 million children under 11, holding a huge growth potential for kids-related businesses. She also added that Carrie TV would continue its effort to produce high quality content as it had done in Korea so that it can bring about the Korean wave of kids in Vietnam.
