Today SK planet announced the acquisition of Hello Nature, a startup specializing in the sale of eco-friendly premium food online.
Hello Nature connects producers and consumers directly so that fresh food is delivered within 24 hours of ordering online. Since launching in 2012, the service has grown to 20 million subscribers, 1000 affiliate producers, and an annual sales growth rate of 350%.
SK Planet, the e-commerce division of SK Telecom, will keep Hello Nature as an independent subsidiary, with plans to boost growth of the company and create synergy with SK Planet in the fresh-food sector.
The startup had 50 employees at its acquisition and has been using its network of producers to supply premium products such as vegetables, fruit and meat to consumers. SK Planet hopes to expand this further by offering more innovative services and opportunities for offline sales as well.
