Social casino game developer Bob Games has landed 4 billion won ($3.5m) in funding from Neptune, K Cube Ventures and Kclavis. Neptune leads the investment with 2 billion won, with the other two firms providing 1 billion each.
Founded in April this year, Bob Games is currently developing a slot-machine style casino game called ‘Milli Billi Slots Vegas Casino’ and plans to launch the game later this month. The first version will be released on Android starting in the US and the company plans to take it global by the end of the year.
The startup is made up of an experienced team, with CEO Kim Hyun-su having previously headed game companies Dadasoft and Pati Games. Bob Games also brought on the Millibilli Studio team, which has the experience of developing ‘Slot Social Casino’, a global game that received over 10 million downloads.
“Through this investment, we don’t plan to only launch our game but focus on actively targeting the North American market,” says CEO Kim. “We will do our best to develop games that meet the highest global standards by considering users’ game environment and experience.”
Minkyu Shin, Partner at K Cube Ventures says, “The social casino market, which has already become popular around the world, is expected to grow at an even faster rate via new platforms such as mobile and VR, and also bring in stable revenue. We believe that Bob Games can become a leading casino game company through global strategy and team synergy.”
Bob Games has also set up a subsidiary company named Ring Games which will release a new game in the second half of next year.
