On the 1st of April, WeWork announced Mr. Moon Kyung-rok, WeWork Labs Yeouido branch manager, as general manger of WeWork Labs Korea.
WeWork Labs is a global startup innovation program presented by WeWork to assist early startups and their entrance to the global market. Fresh salad delivery service Freshcode, Alliez, AI scheduling service platform Kono and others are member businesses of WeWork Labs.
Mr. Moon Kyung-rok, the new general manager of WeWork Labs Korea is an entrepreneur who founded a fintech startup Newsystock and sold it to be merged with Daily Financial Group. Mr. Hwang Samuel, former general manager of WeWork Labs ever since its foundation in 2018 June, will maintain close collaboration with WeWork Labs to support member companies’ growth as a mentor and a startup investor.
Mr. Moon stated “With each branch managers as the center, WeWork Labs will continue its efforts to build and sustain better business environments for all member companies to prosper domestically ind internationally”.
Mr. Matthew Shmapine, WeWork Korea General Manager and global co-founder of WeWork Labs, stated “WeWork will utilize WeWork Labs as a channel to create and reinforce startup environments.”, adding that “WeWork Labs will continue playing its role as a hub of early startups in Korea by providing spaces for members to foster their business, the global communities, investment opportunities and education resources.
