Startup Mobile Utility has launched new tool ‘Nida.com’ for creating domain names in the Korean alphabet, commonly known as Hangul. The service was launched to coincide with Hangul Day, the national holiday that celebrates the Korean Alphabet which was developed in the 15th century under King Sejong.
Nida.com users can simply enter in the Korean domain that they’d like to use and connect it to a URL to give their links a bit more personality. For example 스타트업이.알고싶을.때.com, which means ‘when you want to know about startups’, will send you to our VentureSquare Korean site.
The platform lets you view links that other people have made and filter by the most popular. If a link is made by an unregistered user it will expire after 14 days. Nida.com is also preparing to sell custom Korean domains from this November. Being one of the first in the market to provide such a service, you’re bound to be able to get the domain that you want or something very close to it.
“We’ve obtained over 1000 domain addresses so that users can create attractive links with witty Korean phrases,” says Mobile Utility CEO Taehyoung Kim. “In a beta test from an online marketing firm, Nida.com links were three times more successful than English links.”
Nida.com is currently offering a three month free subscription to anyone who signs up by October 15. Following this, the startup says that it will have paid options for both personal use and businesses.
