Peeper, a star-fan social networking service provider, revealed that it had attracted KRW 350 million worth of investment from 3 investors, including ActnerLab and BANDI Consortia. To date, Peeper has accumulated investments of over KRW 1.4 billion since 2016 when it raised a KRW 1 billion investment fund.
This deal led by Inje Cho, CEO of ActnerLab, was joined by BANDI Consortia. The investors said that they decided to make investments in Peeper taking into account the potential of social media platforms used by entertainers and fans, as the relevant market is expanding dramatically worldwide in step with Korean Wave, also known as Hallyu, stars and K-pop singers who have risen to international stardom.
Peeper developed and is currently operating a social networking service to connect Hallyu stars and fans. This SNS application is now used by more than 500 thousand devotees of Korean entertainers in over 50 countries. Peeper will have more worldwide users as Hallyu and K-pop stars will participate in its social networking platform by this deal. Hyunjae Choi, CEO of Peeper, said, “We will actively expand businesses in domestic and overseas markets with our new advanced services starting from the second half of this year.
