Hana Financial Investment has signed an MOU with augmented reality (AR) startup Social Network, including an undisclosed amount of funding.
The partnership will see Hana Financial provide Social Network with consulting for financing and investment as the developer gears up to enter more overseas markets.
Social Network has been leading the local AR market, and sees around one million people pass through its ‘Trick Eye Museums’ located in Korea and several overseas locations every year. The company is now looking at proposals to work with other businesses to create a large-scale theme park abroad.
“Starting with Seoul, we’ve also launched Trick Eye Museums in Singapore and Hong Kong,” said Social Network CEO Park Su-wang. “In the future we will set up three overseas offices to create a global AR theme park.”
Commenting of the deal, CEO of Hana Financial Investment Lee Jin-guk said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Social Network for partnering with Hana Financial Investment, and we intend to provide full financial support for to the company going forward.”
